A 600x600 grid puts one grout line every 60 cm instead of every 30. Over a lobby or an open-plan apartment the surface reads as one plane, with less grout to clean and to discolour.

Large-format slabs need suction frames and a third pair of hands. A 60x60 tile is still a two-hand piece, so ordinary site crews lay it quickly and breakage on site stays low.

Because 60x60 is the volume size, shade batches are large. That is what allows a mixed container of several designs to ship from one production run rather than three.
